Who we are
The Casino Reviews is an independent review site for online poker rooms, casinos and slot sites. We collect experiences from people who actually deposited, we publish those experiences without editing them, and we rate each operator on what its players report rather than on what its marketing claims.
Why this site exists
Almost everything a person finds when searching for an online poker room or casino is written by someone who earns a commission on the sign-up. Affiliate pages dressed up as reviews rank well, read plausibly, and almost never award a low score.
Meanwhile the things that decide whether a site is worth playing at — whether withdrawals arrive, what the rake or wagering requirement really is, what happens at verification — are exactly the things those pages skip.
Somebody has to publish the other half of the picture. Where an operator performs badly, we say so plainly, and we leave the review up.
What we do
- Collect player reviews. Registered users write about casinos they have used. We moderate for spam, abuse and personal data, never for tone.
- Rate operators transparently. Each score is the average of its player reviews, calculated automatically. The method is on our How we review page.
- Publish guides and investigations. Our blog covers poker strategy and payouts, slot RTP and volatility, bonus terms, withdrawal problems and licensing.
- Give operators a right of reply. Any company we cover can respond to a review or correct a factual error, free.
What we do not do
- We do not sell ratings, rankings, or placement in any list.
- We do not remove negative reviews in exchange for payment or partnership.
- We do not write reviews ourselves and present them as player experiences.
- We do not publish operator marketing copy as editorial.
How we pay for this
We fund the site through advertising and clearly labelled affiliate links, and paid listings are marked Sponsored wherever they appear.
The important part is the boundary: commercial relationships have no influence on scores. Ratings are calculated from player reviews by formula. An operator can advertise with us and still carry a one-star rating.
Responsible gambling
We review gambling sites, which means we have an obligation the average review site does not. Every page on this site carries an age notice and a link to free confidential help, and our Responsible gambling page sets out the warning signs and the tools that work.
If gambling has stopped feeling like a choice, please use them.
Accuracy and corrections
We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we correct the page and note what changed rather than quietly editing and moving on.
If you have found a factual error — a licence that has lapsed, a bonus term that has changed, an operator that has been sold — write to us and we will check it against the source.
